New York. The most populated city in the U.S. Over 18 million people lived here, but Ace doubted that nearly any of them had such gifts as his. But he wasn't here to sight see, many people came here to do such things but he hadn't the time for it. no, he was here because he thought he might find someone, someone that was like him, someone that would accept him. Maximum Ride, she was famous among experiments from the original Itex corporation, the first to escape with five others, but it was her that Ace searched for now. Most people would say that trying to find a single person in New York City was pointless, but he was looking for six people, and with his abilities, it would be easier than it would be for a normal person. He looked down from where he was standing, on a high level of a parking garage, at the street below. He was right near times square, and it was around noonish, so it was packed, being high up like this was much easier than walking down there. His mind was stretched out in every direction, and he was taking in the thoughts of all around him. Most were worrying about where to eat, others were thinking about train times, but there were a few, just on the range of his perception. They weren't thinking of lunch, they were thinking of how cramped they felt in the masses of people, thinking of Dog Crates, and Doctors, and Erasers. He nearly fell back in surprise at how fast he had found those thoughts. He knew that if they were here he would find them, but not that quickly.
Standing, he looked over the edge, 52 stories up was a long way, but he had no fear of heights, he ruled the skies. Now on the edge he felt the currents blustering around him, making him sway back and forth, also feeling the thermals coming up form the street hot street below. He partially extended his magnificent wings, being careful not to fall off the edge of the concrete ledge. Fortunately he was high up enough for people to easily see him and think he was simply a falcon flying overhead. With a hard push of the ledge he sprung into the air, now nearly 700 feet above the ground and he snapped out his wings, flapping once to stabilize himself he flew through the air, using the six minds he had detected as a point of reference. Would they accept him? Would they attack him? He wondered about both these things as he flew above the city.

Once again, Iggy wondered, why in the world where they in New York City? He didn't like the crowds, he didn't like the people, and the noise was going to drive him insane. It was irritating to feel more useless than he normally felt. Usually, he was better with hearing than the rest of the flock and that gave him a bit of an upper hand. In a place like this? With people touching you every second and you have no idea when one of those so called "touches" could be a snarling, raging lupine-human that wanted to tear your head off, yeah.. not so much fun.
Iggy knew better than to say anything. He knew Max and the others thought of him right? They were constantly thinking about how he felt since really didn't know what was going on. It was why they constantly gave him ideas of where things where, or why there was this or that sound. Normally, that was enough for Iggy. It wasn't that he really minded being blind, he had gotten used to the fact all ready. After all, he had been like this, since well forever ago. It wasn't like it was going to change any time soon. The boy let out a sigh, it was a lot easier when they were in places where he felt like he could at least contribute.
This.. was a madhouse. But at least.. they had found a small bit of shelter from the huge crowds. A small little cafe like place. Sure, still crowds of people, due to all the noise, he only guessed they were still surrounded. But at least they got to sit at a table, with a umbrella and shade. How did he know this? Well someone had told him, though he could of found out what color everything was by touching it, but still it was nice when the flock let him in on little tidbits. At least in this small area, he could bare the noise of the city a bit better. Not perfect, but at least it wasn't like people were screaming in his ears anymore.
"So.. Max, do tell me. Exactly when are we planning on leaving this place?" he said. After all, they didn't like staying in places to long. They had all ready had a major catastrophe at the zoo, which was... rather lovely, not. Though.. he did meet someone like himself. That was a plus, guess he wasn't the only one out there who was blind. Cool, but not extremely helpful. Really Iggy just wanted to go somewhere quiet. The blonde didn't think he could survive in this place for that much longer. If he was forced to stay here, he would probably start hitting his head against something rather hard trying to make the sounds go away.
He let out a silent sigh as he opened his sightless blue eyes from their previous closed position. He wondered, how many people could actually tell he was blind, if he didn't move. If he just sat here all day long, if anyone would ever notice it at all.

Max's eyes where darting around, she hated crowds and was ready to leave. She looked up in the sky and saw a hawk. Her eyes looked away before she could get a good look at it and realize that it wasn't a hawk. "We'll be leaving tonight if our plans go right. Believe me I'm ready to leave this city as well. I heard of a small island for hybrids. Only hybrids Know where it is. All we have to do is find a hybrid that knows the location." She said this just under her breath but she knew Iggy and the others would understand what she said.

Fang seemed to be calmy walking along next to Max and the flock, but in truth, he was looking at everything, keeping tabs on everything around them. "Yes, Max, lets go look for the one group of people that are going to be hiding even more than we are." He loved the idea, in fact, but the way Max had said it made it seem so easy to do, as if they would find one on every street corner. Not to say that it wasn't possible, but they wouldn't have neon signs over their head, blinking 'Here I am, Malco come get me'. His eyes darted up to the sky as a shadow fell over them, and he saw a bird, circling above them... No, it wasn't a bird, he realized, it was a person. "Max, get into the shade, don't want a sunstroke". He pushed her into the next shop, taking Iggy with them as they went.
